From the fine folks at the Fender Custom Shop, this 1950 Esquire Heavy Relic in Aged Olympic White exemplifies the no-frills, straight-to-the point Esquire vibe to a "T". The 2-piece Ash body is finished in Aged Olympic White nitrocellulose lacquer, and heavy relic'd to perfection. The 4-ply brown tort guard is lacquered and aged to match. The plain maple neck is relic'd to the wood and features the beefy '50 Nocaster "U" profile. Depth starts at .950" at the 1st fret and hitting a full 1" depth at the 12th. The traditional 7.25" radius fingerboard is loaded with 6150 medium jumbo frets and relic'd to perfection. The Fender Custom Shop OBG (Original Black Guard) pickup is controlled by the Esquire Full Throttle wiring configuration. This schematic gives you a straight-to-the-jack output, bypassing tone and volume controls. Single pickup simplicity, stoic neck profile, worn in like an old glove.
